As much power as you can afford. Headroom is always a good thing.

A few questions: What is your source? Portable or for at home? What is your Budget?

Let me rephrase that: I know nothing about amps. What would you recommend for listening to electronic, film score, and metal music?

Zach, I haven't had the chance to thank you for the headphones since I received them about a week ago (I got ZMF V1), so here it is: I'm really impressed! I am not enough of an audiophile to be able to put it into terms, but I do know good sound when I hear it, and the ZMFs turned out to be an absolute pleasure to listen to. I was a little concerned about the lower range upon first hearing - it sounded a little recessed to me, but I realize now that the bass on ZMFs is just true to the source, which is a good thing, since I like my headphones to be neutral and honest. I did bump it up +3db in iTunes though :)

Currently running them through the DAC on my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, which I generally use for sound recording, and a PA2V2 amp; the latter is small but mighty.

All in all, best headphones I ever owned, and a great complement to my GR-07 IEMs!

P.S. Congrats on your marriage! Best of luck!

My source would be my iPod or laptop. I prefer a portable one and my budget is around 175 USD.

With that budget it is hard to beat the Fiio E17. You won't get the full potential out of the T50rp with it though.

Hi there, first post of a long time lurker here. Finally decided to break the "stealth mode" so that I can share my thoughts when my ZMF V2's with gold re-jack and mogami cable arrives

.

In the mean time, I would just like to ask if anybody here has tried to pair their ZMF with the Bravo Ocean (tube amp)? I want to try the tube experience just to satisfy my curiosity and prefer a budget option.

Currently I am using a HA Info DA1 usb DAC/amp (I know you guys probably have'nt heard of it but for me it is quite good).

Welcome to Head-Fi! And sorry about your wallet.
Can't answer your questions, but I like my simple tube amp, Rock'n Glass from Zigis Audio Lab, a lot with the ZMF
Also an amp not many have heard of. It's very powerful. It can even drive small 8 ohm loudspeakers at medium volume near computer.

If anybody can compare these the the Mad Dogs 3.2, I would appreciate it. These are definitely intriguing and well-priced.

yeah I agree, an A-B comparo between the Mad Dogs and the ZMF would be nice. I guess nobody (or very few) would own both.

There are both wealthy and curious members on this forum... it is only a matter of time. There certainly are members with multiple T50RPs.

I just can't wait to get my hands on my own set.

Oh yes, it would seem there are indeed a lot of wealthy Headfiers that can afford end game stuff. and then some curious peasants like me haha. But seriously I understand how you feel because I am also waiting in anticipation for my set.

any updates? is the delivery target still end of the month or 1st week of september?

Delivery target is the same as the honeymoon will be over the 25th and then it's back to Chicago!   So not much longer...!

On another note I just picked up a used Schiit Mjolner that will be waiting for me when I get back to Chicago.  Has anyone heard the t50rp on one of those babies?  Thoughts?  I know that power won't be an issue with it.  I'll be keeping my LYR as well so I have a good single ended option too.

Hope everything is well with everyone.
