Review: Spiral Ear SE 5-way Reference - A new level of resolution? (Review posted 5/15/12)

I ran into the same situation. When I tracked it, status was received, but didn't get a notification right away. I just waited out to see if he's given me a confirmation of receipt shipment, but no response, so I emailed him, and he responded. I got notified for payment 5 days after, and got a tracking number within 3 days after. Was a quick turn around in my case.

I get a sense it's not ultimate ears production scale in that they have somebody to send out status updates frequently.

after using Universal ears for a few years now, i thought inserting these would be a breeze, even tho i read it's hard at first.
but it's definetly a worthwhile challenge! the seal and fit are amazing!
i'm still in my first hours of listening, but i'm amazed!

Congrats & happy listening

Btw, it is the SE5U, right? Asking because I don't see it printed on the shells. Oh, and what was the turn around time for yours?

I'm also curious about the used source (dap)

it's the SE3R :smile_phones: it took exactly 30 days since i shipped my own impressions. it got delayed abit because the wire transfer didn't go through at first and grezgorz was waiting for it for a few days before letting me know it didn't pass.

Great to see another Spiral Ear product getting some ear time. Do let us know what you think compared to the SE535, I still have my bronze one :)

@Kerouac , if the courier of your choice doesn't go full-retard; Master G is grease lighting. Even backlogged, he was still Shaolin quick

It will get greased up from your canal wax over time and will get easier. Happy listening! :L3000:
Now that's a lot of 'grease based' posts suddenly...not sure were that came from

Anyway: I will probably be able to audition the SE5U within the upcoming weeks myself.
It has to be very good though (but I'm afraid that it will be) to come in between me and a Warbler Prelude order later on

I'm on the exact same boat, my friend. As a fellow Zeus-XR and H8.2 owner...

Would any SE5U owners recommend them for listening to metal or would I be better off with something else?

Sure...but about that 'Don't let me down' part: didn't you confuse me with somebody else?

Hello @Rollk2! I see that, aside from your SE5U, you own/have owned IEMs like the H8.2 and the Spartan-IV. Do you mind giving us a detailed comparison, performance-and-signature-wise, between the SE5U and those two IEMs? Thanks in advance!

Thanks, guess I'll have to get the ear impressions done and send them a picture to see if my ears can accommodate them.
