I would think the bass might be a bit weak for Trance, but it depends on how much bass you like. Overall it is a better IEM than EB950 no doubt.

Ok thanks mate, I found a place in UK that sell them at an amazing price. So I guess I'll go for them once I sold my Sony W273.

I'm not really worried about the low bass since I'll be using them with my E11 amp which means I can adjust the bass response.

Now I like the R-50 with EDM whether its trance, house, techno or what ever.  The bass on a flat EQ is to light but with my E11 or E6 bass boost on I can get the bass to have a good amount of impact and much better depth than stock.  The R-50's detail and precision works good with EDM imo but if you really like a good amount of bass I wouldn't use the R-50 then, something like the BA200, GR07 or e-Q5 would all be better, I had all 3 and I liked all of them to use with EDM.

Well I've got my eye on the R-50s because of their awesome price, plus ClieOS has them rated at 4th place. That's quite something.

I can' say for sure. I don't own the DBA-02 MK2 but only audition it quite some time ago. I'll say it is a minor upgrade over the original DBA-02 so it should be more or less around the same level as R-50 for overall SQ.

Thanks, I ended up ordering the SM64, talking about impulse buying. Hope it turned out to be good. I know you dislike earsonics sound signature so hopefully I wouldnt be disappointed much as I seem to have the same taste in SQ as you based on your reviews.

I know you got SM64 but i will say that DBA-02 MKII is an upgrade as it is more full-bodied, with better bass response, i found the R-50 a little thin for my tastes. Also the build quality of DBA-02 MKII is much better than R-50

Both Joker and ClieOS have these rated the highest SQ for $120 or less, yet this thread is not getting much action.  Why is that?
