Has anyone moved up the high end DAP chain and feel that they have really obtained a DAP significantly better on overal SQ than the QP1R and that the thousands of dollars was really worth it??

I think the high end DAP people won't be looking and speaking on this thread

I sent my AK240SS back, whereas I kept the Questyle QP1R. The AK240SS was $3,000 vs. The Questyle QP1R at $1,000. Price and supposed high-endedness is not the end of all or be all. For me it is all about the sound.

What is this new astell Kern called?
KANN. I listened to it and compared volume matched with the QP1R. The A&K people are always awesome and I'd like to say thanks to them for being so accommodating if they are reading this.

Definitely! I'd like to get a little more time with it tomorrow (later today) again before posting what will likely be my more permanent thoughts of the KANN. What I will say right now though is it isn't as heavy as I thought it would be, given its inherent size.
Stay tuned!

Wow ... that new Astell & Kern Kann player looks interesting... I wonder if it will sound as good as the QP1R
Interested in this player also. Looking forward to a review.

It does not sound better than the QP1R.
In what ways?
Also, which is more powerful?

For whatever it's worth, I sent my AK240SS back, because it sounded thin and emotionless compared to the Questyle QP1R. I kept the Questyle.
