[Review] Philips SHL3300 "DJ" Headphones - Most Underrated Headphone?
Dec 2, 2015 at 7:23 AM Post #136 of 458
I can vouch for the original 681s and say that the shl3300 is more natural and neutral whilst having a good sub bass, as memory serves it is as good as the 681 in the bass department.

Are you saying the 681s are better than the shl3300? cause i'm really tempted by the superlux's detachable cable.

I'm just hesitant with the 681's build quality and comfort. I'm currently using a superlux hd3300 which i find a bit congested in terms of soundstage that's why i'm looking for a hp with better sound imaging.

hey guys ! i just ordered this headphone on amazon. this is my first real headphone purchase {im 20}. loved the price and the reviews!! I just have a doubt, there seems to be two different models of this. the one in India has no breathable ear cushions i.e. the one with the holes on the pads. so i will be getting the one without the holes. just wanted to know which is newer and which is better.  could someone help me out?

Hi Nithin,
The one with the perforated pads is the older version.
Because of the unperforated pads, the newer version have more bass but less clarity. Otherwise they are the same AFAIK.

My first impressions were not that good. Bass was too much and mids and treble were muddled, but after a 2 day burn in period these are just mind blowing for the price. I'm enjoying it. And comfort is not and issue for me, it fits my head correctly.

They are nice for me comfort at start was kinda painful (stiff) but now for hours can use only some time hot when dunno why I have heated up myself somehow, at start I was boosting bass but new I far from needing that and dunno how long I have them (2 years?) but no problem after time probably even better but hard to say

I bought mine today for approx 35 euros in South Africa (R500zar). I tried Sennheiser 205s at 55 euros, JBL Bluetooth at 100 EUROS, Philips 3565 at 65 EUROS ETC ETC. FOR the price, outstanding Philips shl3300. Would be exceptional is the 32 independence was 16.

I wonder how these compare to the Phillips HP460?

These are just amazing for games and Hollywood movies. Really gives a surround feel.

I have the same impression, they're really great for watching movies and musical performances, excellent surround feel. The DT770 pads replacemente was really worth it, not only it's way more comfortable now, but soundstage and surround have improved too. And I agree with the statement that most Philips headphones are underrated, and usually have great price-performance ratio,
