Well, okay...I don't need moving pictures if my body hungers for IEM porn....

I phrased that a bit creepy, didn't I?

Very different sig overall. The 5.0 bass bump is not that strong, the SD3 are more bass heavy. The 5.0 are more balanced overall and smoother. The SD3 are more bass enhanced, and with a more 3D presentation.

Thanks Mimouille.   I find the 5.0 has plenty of bass as it is so that may write the SD3 off.   Lets see where the SD4 ends up.  3D presentation is good, but is it defined?  I noticed some IEMs had more 3d space but it sounded like the instruments were drifting in air rather than having a specific place.

Stu, thanks for the updates, I hope to be getting my SD3 within the next couple of weeks, hopefully next week, will add my comments as well. Although I know that I cannot give as good a review as yours, so my comments will have to suffice.
Thanks again, both for the review and updates.

Hi mate,
Great news! Thanks for your comments, appreciate it.

"Hello, I had only a preliminary model that I now had to return again. But I have already ordered me my own phone, and if I have to, I will write a more detailed review, and also enter into great detail on the differences with the other "usual suspects." With the FA 3EXB him I could still do not compare directly, since I only have a single FA 3EXB, and is still awarded (all the other InEars as W4 and UE900 I have double and sometimes even triple). I can say, for me, the Stage Diver 3 Universal In-Ear best in my collection. He has the realistic stage, as they otherwise only known from high-end custom InEars like UERM or high-end Dynamikern as the IE80 / IE800. The W4 does have a very wide stage (which is again wider than the stagedivers 3), however, "may" W4 signal depth is not so good - in w4 all sounds kind of the same distance. The StageDiver3 can also convey "closeness" very good. This is partly because the W4 at 4-5kHz has a giant hole that has not StageDiver3. Mids (voices) are the StageDiver3 very realistic, and if someone has breathed close to the microphone when recording, it also provides the StageDiver3 just as close and intimate dar. The W4 can not. kick the bass is extremely quick and crisp when StageDiver3 .When this area W4 sounds more like a "bass wall" that drowned out the mids a bit. This is the W4 but rather to the (comparatively) "Carpet Facial". When I lower the W4 upper bass from always using EQ to 1, 2 dB, so that it matches the rest. When StageDiver3 I have not. StageDiver3 addition, the bass has a higher proportion than the W4 (faaaaaar a subtle subwoofer effect). Compared to M3: hmmm, that are very difficult to compare. The question of whether the StageDiver3 now more or less like your bass has the M3, I can not really answer. The M3 are just the centers to present (something emphasized too strongly), even for a "neutral" is the middle of Listeners share too high. This is not the case with StageDiver3. This is the StageDiver3 compared to the centers of deep bass and kick bass higher proportion. Otherwise, what else is there for high-end InEars at the moment ... compared to the middle UE900 to "recessed" are the UE900 (slightly softened). The Heir 4.Ai has (IMHO) falsified tonal centers (which are too bright). When StageDiver3 the centers "real" (and so "real" as the UERM). I think the Heir 4.Ai one has to contend with phase shift effects, and you tried to get through a slight increase in the upper mids the mids back a little more to the fore. Thus, the centers at Heir 4.Ai are indeed present than the W4 and also the UE900, but IMHO just tonally not "right." Compared to the UERM StageDiver3 is not quite as high in Superhochton. The version that I could hear now was the Superhochton but better than a very early, similar model, which I had already heard last year. The super high but the UERM is already raised too much some people.course, my own personal taste in these flows with a description, which must please consider her. But for me the best is the StageDiver3 Universal Ear ever. I can only recommend him to audition. direct comparison to my FA-3E with the XB but even I'm very excited. Greetings, Markus "

Good or bad, you decide:
iRiver Astell and Kern AK120 with InEar Stagedriver SD3:

Top or bottom and is that the actual measured response or simply the impedance effect on frequency? Also I don't know if it's been noted but the review says 3 way when this is a 3 driver 2 way with 2 bass and 1 wide range driver.

Not sure if this was posted, but if you are interested in the SD2 or SD3, and if you are outside of Europe, including the US, you can get them from this source:

http://www.thomann.de/gb/search_dir.html?sw=stagediver&x=0&y=0

They do international and accept credit cards.
Price was very reasonable.

No, I don't work for them, just thought I would mention it since I got an IM inquiry, and think this should be public knowledge.
These are hard to get otherwise, unless you are in Europe.

The setup is:
1 X low bass
1 X bass/mid
1 X high

Finally! I was getting annoyed with the "you can lead a horse to water..."
Will be interesting to hear thoughts on the SD2, poor Ultrazino must be getting hammered.

At least for the money the SD2 seem to be like the best universal IEM, now we shall see/hear ha ha.

If that's what you base your purchases on, then you'll be sorely disappointed in this hobby. There is no universally "best" iem or headphone at any price point, only preferences when you pass a technical threshold.
