Hello,
I am using the Comply tips that came with them. They sound wonderful! I am really digging these phones!

guys i just got a message from brian at btg audio

he said hes able to recable only my turbines and gr07 but NOT THE RE400!!!

the one that i would think need the recabling the most

my cables fine right now but hearing about what happened to everyone else on this thread, and the fact that i baby them like crazy i feel like they would crap out on my probably in a 1.5 time or 2 years. which is outside the warranty time.

THATS NOT GOOD considering how much i love them right now! there has to be another solution!!!

as shameful as it to say should i just be a bit more abusive to them later and take advantage of the warranty?

does hifiman replace the "warrantied one"? i wouldn't imagine they do otherwise, the cycle would repeat any they won't earn anything

any thoughts from anyone

i dunno why brian can't recable the re400?! the housing doesn't look anymore difficult than the turbines to me! but what do i know?

inks , this is a great piece of information - i see they also re-cable the RE-262/272

this is a fantastic option if these 2 beloved iems get a cable problem

thanx for the info

I bought a RE-400, they have a great sound quality, but with just a few hours of use, the right channel began to fail

I sent a mail to HIFIMAN about this (they didn't reply yet), but based in what i'm reading, its dosen't matter if they change the earphones, the new will have sometime the same problem.

The one I had lasted me 3 months fine with both channels working until the jack failed partly due to some user abuse. Channels going out could very well be a problem at the jack as much as it is on the driver side. Not sure why they used that connector instead of a 90* or straight cable.

Also, I've got a new RE400 for sale if anyone is interested (on my signature). http://www.head-fi.org/t/705239/fs-new-hifiman-re400-iem

I've never had a single issue with mine, but I'm pretty careful with them when I wear them

I ordered my re-400 from head-direct at christmas and within the last week the right driver has gotten a lot quieter, theres still audio coming out of it but its significantly lower than the left one. Don't know whether to get them repaired or look for a replacement under warranty, any advice?

So it turns out the sound in my right re-400 driver was just the cable messing about, as it seems is pretty common with this IEM. But now the right cable housing has come completely off http://i.imgur.com/15GLrN4.jpg Most likely due to me wearing them over ear style with comply foam tips. I must have been to rough when rolling the tips into a cylinder. Any idea how to fix this? I really don't want to return them to hifiman as they took 4 weeks to ship to Ireland and the return shipping would cost me money I don't have atm.
