The main thing is how deep the Zo makes it go and how efficiently it does it. The E17 gets to like perhaps 6db bass boost and distorts a lot. I would not use e17 bass boost unless wanting a subtle boost.

I suggest checking out Audiotechnica M50s with this little magic pill.  I think you find it be a wonderful combo.

I am using the Vsonic gr07 mkii with an Iphone 4 plus a lod fiio Alpen. I use this eq on the Alpen: bass +8db, treble - 4 db. I just want to carry something smaller when I am outside. Do you think the Zo can reduce the treble like the Alpen?
