The DTX101 has a darker sound signature and is more refined compared to the 700/770x. The 700/770x have a lot more bass but they can sometimes muddy up the mids a bit. The 700/770x do offer more value for money though.

What you mean by the word "darker"? Does the 770/700 and beyer have driver flex?

Dark generally means less lower-treble and upper-mids. I did not notice any driver flex when using the 101iE and I do not have enough experience with the 700/770x to say.

the volume of my ne-600x suddenly became lower and the sound became muddy. bass started sounding a bit darker. weird, is this the burn in?

Burn-in will never make a change like that, if any at all. My first guess is that the wires are broken (specifically the ground wire).
