I ordered my in mid-Feb hoping for end of Feb shipping, but now it looks like mid-March. Can't wait to try them out : )

Based on your signature, I'm guessing that you've been a lurker for some time.

Haha, very ture, and this is my very first post! I've been reading on this site for a long time and trying to keep under the radar just in case my wife finds out that I am looking at buying more cans

I have DT-880 and HD555. Mostly I listen to NFB-12 + DT880. Will I benefit from getting HM5? How does it sound compared to DT880? How is the sound signature compared to DT880?

DT880 is more comfortable, much wider soundstage, has less bass quantity and has a sharper, more pronounced treble. The HM5 is closed, so has a smaller soundstage, bigger bass compared to the DT880 and a much smoother treble compared to the DT880's 9khz peak. The DT880 is more detailed and reference-like. The HM5 is, in my opinion, overall smoother and more pleasant. The HM5 is no upgrade though.

:) looks like the HM5 would be the one I was looking for. While DT880 was very detailed and good I was looking for some headphone for relaxed listening. Knowing that HM5 also can be used with portable sources i9/S Flo2 etc. is a plus for me. Thanks for the inputs.
