<Renewed at 2012/03/12>

And there were some news about the New HiFiMan.

1.Improving the sound-quality of new HM product,and it may named "HM-901" rather than "802".
2.The new HM will support all music files.
3.We will make the 24-bit music files have more sense on the new HM.
4.Improving the the built-quality(comparing with elder serials) and operation(more linear than the elder men).

And we will give more detail about 3. and 4. in the future.

<Elder>

Well,I saw this news from a china forum,though English isn't my native language,I will do my best to translate this news.

The New HiFiMAN 802 & New UI named "Tai-Ji"

  We all know that 801 is a good player,but his design of UI and build isn't as great as his sound.And now we will have the new 802,the 802's build quality will be more fashion and cool compared to the elder product,a picture here may more understandable than many words,here we can see that.

A very sexy one though he is a "HiFiMAN"Then,let's take a look at the new UI-"Tai-Ji"

  Wow,wonderful!This new UI will be applied to 802 as a symbol of new flagship,but don't worry about your MAN,the elder HiFiMAN will also upgrade gradually,though we don't know the time exactly.
  The new HiFiMAN 802 will expected to announce in May this year,if you are the one who haven't pre-order the ibasso DX100,you may consider in this 802.

This is exciting news. I have heard the 801 and loved the superlative sound quality but the build and software was left wanting. It was difficult for me to make the switch from an iPod, however. Simply put, the iPod is a design masterpiece. The HM-801 is a far more primitive designed piece of hardware. I hope the new 802 will rectify the design issues of the 801 and have even better sound quality than the 801. If these two things happen, I may relegate my iPod to the Museum of Modern Art.

I hope that the 802 will have a PCM1704 dac chip as well, nothing seems to be confirmed for now.
I've also read on hifiman.us that the HM-601 Slim would have this Burr Brown chip, but I didn't find anything on head-direct (sill the TD1543 on both the 601 and 602).

For now, the 801 has disappeared from Head-Direct and Hifiman.us, which confirm that the 802 could hit the market pretty soon (hopefully before May

At hifiman.us, the HM-602 says:

"D/A Chip: TDA1543
LPF Op-amp: OP275, OPA2604
Headphone Amplifier Op-amp: OPA2107"

The HM-601 slim 8G/4G only say:

"D/A Chip: TDA1543"

I think the HM-601 uses LM833, JRC4560 and JRC5532, most likely the same in the slim version.

I hope it's easy to open up the HM-601 slim, and switch the JRC5532 for a better sounding opamp.  Then... with this new UI and the slimness, it'll be a very good DAP for $199, + a little extra for the AD8620 or similiar. =p

So it's just a new housing and UI, exact same internals as the HM-801, yes?

There's a HM-601 'slim' now too it seems.

That's not a confirmed thing,either.I'll upgrade any news about 802 if I once get them and have some leisure.
And all my know about these two men,the 801 won't disappear in recent days and the 802 now seems to be a revise edition rather than a new flagship,just a speculation.
But somebody suspect that the elder amp-card(do i have the right name?) of 801's may not be suitable on new 802,and still,just a speculation.
Anyway,I'll keep concerning on this new product and if you guys get something new can also post here,since I don't have much leisure.
