Reinforcing Monster Turbine Cables (especially the 3.5mm plug)

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to put multiple layers of heat shrink on the plug then use a right angle adaptor with extension cable. ill give monster a call and see if heatshrink is ok and will not void the warranty. With the price you pay, you'd expect they would add stress reliefs to the cables. Hopefully i get the new revision with the L plug.

Stretching the heat shrink tubing to size

So that my reinforcement pictures. The part where the heatshrink is on the wire acts as a reinforcement because it is basically bonded to the wire itself. Also the heatshrink is pretty stiff acting like a "splint" in a sense.

Today I followed the good guidelines by QuantumXL (many thanks for the detailed description!) and I put heatsrink on the plug of my MT and on the Y connector.Turned out to be pretty good! :)
In case i have to use the warranty (I hope not, I so love my MT), i am not too worried, since heatsrink can be removed relatively easily without leaving visible traces behind. Another great success for engineering? Time will tell!
