Thanks Fairbanks

Here is a quick update. I finally put my favorite XRCD inside Saturn, Jazz at the Pawnshop from FIM. My fist impression was the sound from glasses hitting each other is so clear and direct.

Once again all instruments can be easily identified, including conversation from those live audience. When I close my eyes, I can feel I am inside the bar and sitting directly from the band.

BTW, all of this impression are from RS-1 + Headsave Classic. Now I totally understand how critical the source is.

1. headsave do not do RS1 any justice

2. Cans do not do Saturn any justice

You had to turn it on when you recieved it,so yes there is an on/off switch. Is this some kind of a joke or are you serious.

I was serious. Ive since had a look and there is no on/off switch! So its on all the time. I wonder what it draws at idle?

There is round on/off switch just to left of info display, has small red led in center to indicate power on, since Saturn is solid state it has low power consumption idle (14 watts) so I keep mine on 24/7 plugged into power conditioner with surge protection.

Thanks for this. I went looking for a button twice but thought it was just an LED!!

Luckily for you the power button had been pressed into the "On" position, sometime during manufactoring or shipping. Otherwise you would have thought the Saturn to be dead on arrival

I guess no one has. Oh well. My A5 crapped out. Since I bought it used the warenty is void. I do not know if I should pay to get it fixed or use this as an excuse to get a new player. How about the Naim CDX2 against the Saturn? This Naim model has been in production a few years, so I was wondering if the newer technology in the Saturn can compete with the more expensive CDX2 (without the power supply). I have the Naim in my main system, but as a source it is a little to bright.
