Finally, & sorry for all the Q's -what do you guys think of Eat Static? Not sure I'd call em trance, but I only have ltd knowledge as yet...I like them tho.

I really enjoyed the last 2 from them - De-Classified (Psytrance) and Back to Earth (Downtempo, "Psychill", psychedelic). Both very different albums but also very good

Regards Infected Mushroom - only bought/heard Vicious D...good, liked, but not what I was expecting! Maybe earlier IM, as you say...

Sash err.. i think its just called dance music (that was a genre in itelf in the 90s here), if that's any close to trance then it would be from the very commercial side of it which i don't know much about (if at all).

About IM, VD sounds more like a mix of hip hop, rock, and some tiny bits of psytrance here and there.
Their sound evolved a lot the past few years, for the better or the worst depending on your tastes.
Try listening to their first 2 albums (The Gathering and Classical Mushrooms) and see how you like them.

Concerning Eat Static, i've never been a great fan tbh but i love "Almost Human" from them, it has a very goa-ish melody.

Aside from the more well known artists like Armin, Above & beyond, etc...check out:

John O'Callaghan
Andy Moor
Markus Schulz
Arnej
Jose Amnesia
DJ Shah / Sunlounger
Thrillseekers
Super8 & Tab

For some more up and coming trance artists go to Armada Music. Good place to keep up with the new releases.
