Recomend me an "odd" instrument to learn

thinking of learning an instrument out of left field.
Already play piano, sax, clarinet, bass guitar and drums.
Thinking something along shakuhachi or a theremin...
Need to be able to get a beginner (but nto awful) one for under 250 aud.
I could reach up to 700$ but to be fair thats a bit much for a "getting started" instrument of this nature IMO

There are lots of inexpensive Theramin kits, so if you are willing to build one, you might be able to get started for not very much money.

How about the Kalimba? I stumbled across some vids on YouTube, and was amazed at how much can be done with this rather unassuming looking little instrument. When it is amplified, the possibilites multiply. Check out the sample below.
