Not much. There is no point buying the 600ohm version if you aren't going to amp it. You would better off with the DT150 or DT250 than buying the DT770

but say if i'm going to amp it, how will the udac power it? or any other amps to reccomend around that price range?

Update to my earlier comments, Sennheiser HD-280 Pro phones are acceptable with a minimal blue tack mod. I would try to buy refurbished or something at a discount though. Do a search for "280 mod" on Headfi and you'll see references to the blue tack mod. It adds that blue poster tack gum to the plastic case to reduce resonances. I added it only behind the little driver (not everywhere). To me, this makes the HD-280s "okay". Not sure how this compares to other cans. A good value for the right price, even if not "perfect".
