I've been using the Head Direct RE0s for a couple months now. They're great but I need more bass. Audio Technica M50s are recommended here a lot. They would be my first full size headphones. What can I expect switching from RE0s to M50s?

A big bump for this old thread. Is a strange comparison, in-ear vs full body.

But I have a similar question: I can get the M50 for home usage, and the RE0 for home/street usage. I don't have any good cans, only the senns HD180 :p
And in-ear have the M9, the CX280 and other low end models from phillips

(verbosity xD)

Any good advice?

I guess you mean you can only get one of the two, correct?

Don't know if you're still looking at a comparison for these two, but hopefully I can be of some help with my first post. I own a pair of re0's and my roommate a pair of M50s. The re0 is significantly clearer than the m50. The m50's mids are recessed compared to the re0 and the re0's highs are much better. The m50 is warmer, has a fuller bass, and a bigger soundstage. I think it really depends on the type of music you like.

The m50 isn't that big so if you get the coiled cord you can definitely wear them outside no problem.
