"The Crazies"  and there are some scenes of extreme gore and terror. You won't forget the pitchfork scene.

Damn straight, the pitchfork scene was worth the price of admission.

Oh yea Master and Commander on DVD. Pretty good movie with great actors and a good storyline. 8.5/10 I actually got the soundtrack first and because that was so good, I though I'd give the movie a watch lol

You know I just watched an early Weir film: Picnic at Hanging Rock. After that and thinking about the above along with films like The Mosquito Coast and Gallipoli, it occurred to me the dude is fascinated with natural themes and placing children in the wringer. I'm pretty dense like that. I'll give Hanging Rock a 7/10.

I have been pretty ho hum about this blockbuster season. Robin Hood did nothing to change that. Geesh, I don't even know what to say. Betcha it's a box office disappointment. 3/10

On a positive note, I watch Werckmeister Harmonies for the first time. Wow, it was stunning. 10/10

Finally saw Avatar. I wanted to like it, but thought it was too long and too boring; 5.5/10

And I found a lot to like about Titanic, so Cameron's heavy-handed, emotionally manipulative directing style doesn't bother me as much as some...

I saw it in non-3d HD, but can't see how 3d would give it more than another point overall, less for the stupid glasses

Robin Hood - 7.5/10

Not bad overall. It seems Crowe is stuck in a rut of playing the same type of roles in his past few movies, and this is no exception. The actions scenes were very well done, but unfortunately the plot didn't hold a lot of substance and didn't gain momentum until near the end of the movie.

Princess Mononoke
6/10

beautifully animated, and almost imaginative to a fault.

but, overly long, with a sleepy storyline, one that is confusing at times.  i guess you have to understand a bit more japanese culture to really "get it".

after being spirited away by Spirited Away, i was expecting to really love this, but didn't
