Oy...that movie was quite disappointing to me.  A friend hyped it so much I had the sequel saved in my queue before even seeing the original.  After watching it I deleted the sequel from my list.  >.<

Into the Wild - 10/10

Saw this again tonight. Pretty much blown away by it. A real masterpiece IMO. Can't say that about many movies.
Read the book a few times and it's fairly accurate.

NOTE: free with Amazon Prime

What is this. I got my top three way to die now.

1. flight crash.
2. Killed by grizzly bear
3. Say bye bye to civilization and get killed by a grizzly bear. Not starving to death for gods sake!

Grizzly bear thing is totally unlogical but they are just so beautiful and strong animals.

But yes Into the Wild was very strong. I was so pissed on the kid for what he was doing for his parents and not taking it seriously.

I'm with you guys on being underwhelmed with the whole thing, but man that last scene was badass.

I loved the ending to that one.

I can see how it would be disappointing for some folks. You do have to suspend disbelief a bit since it's not a very realistic film, but I loved watching the physical action. I don't remember the term for that technique where you use boundaries in that manner, but I never get tired of watching it. It was well received critically as a popcorn flick and I think the majority of folks Ive recommended it to enjoyed it. It's not going to win any academy awards, though.

There is an action flick out now called "the Raid: Redemption" that supposedly is a top notch action flick. I love that foreign cinema is putting out some solid alternatives to Hollywood in many different genres. Some of my favorite films over the last several years have been among my favorites.

Yeah, that's it...I love watching people do that. There was some of that in Casino Royale toward the beginning of the film.

Did you watch through the credits. There's a neat little snippet at the end...

From Paris with love. 6/10
Pretty predicable, but I think it was made to be a don't think about it action movie. Travolta played a pretty basa$$ part...

Dang, seriously? I'm usually really good about checking all the way til the end but must have slipped that time. Actually I think this film is on Netflix now so I'll have to watch it when I get home. Thanks for the heads up!

Just got done watching The Cabin in the Woods...I absolutely HATED the first 2/3, but then really enjoyed the last 1/3.  Overall I'd give it about a 7.5/10.

It's a movie based on a boardgame. What do you really expect?

Also, reminds me I need to rewatch Vanilla Sky now that it's on Netflix. I remember liking it the first time.
