Charlize Theron playing Rambo.....
It's as believable as...........It's just not very believable. Every fight scene comes off as a comedy, off balance punches and kicks, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon has more believable combat set pieces.
Yeah, and it has a story...I think.

I would put both those sixes on their heads and give these movies each a 9/10, FWIW. Saw both in the theater upon release and found them revolutionary. Rec 2 is great as well, after that it went a bit downhill.

Slaughterhouse Rulez

I'd give it a 6/10.

It's the typical Simon Pegg and Nick Frost comedy routine, except that it falls a little short of their usually-high standards, this time around.

Hereditary
Rating: 3.5/5

Well made, but boring. The trailer looks great because its a compilation of all the exciting bits. Interestingly, I actually agree with the Amazon average rating (3.5/5). I may have given it a 4/5 but the trailer was deceptive and made the film a dissapointment. The trailer appeared like a horror film, but it was more psychological drama with some horror twist. It was interesting and well made, but the tension was a bit weak.

Hereditary wasn't too bad, IMO. It's certainly better than the director's follow-up film, Midsommar. I found the latter to be quite a mess.

Freaks

An interesting indie take on a world filled with mutant-like beings, just one without the protection and diplomacy skills of a Charles Xavier.

8/10.

I watched Hereditary mainly due to the Midsommar hype. I dont think Ill bother to watch Midsommar now. Hereditary is not bad at all. My expectation was that it was a film you ‘add to your netflix que because you heard its decent and is something you would like to watch someday just not now because it doesnt seem that interesting’. Based on critics ratings I thought it could potentially be more but my general experience with ‘well-done’ horror films is that I will not like it as much because Im not a big fan of the genre.
