1976 A Man on the Roof.

Swedish crime drama based on the book “The Abominable Man” which centers around a fictional police detective named Martin Beck. This fabulously realistic story is slow yet well done at first until a sniper climbs on a roof; and you can guess the rest. 8-10
Synopsis / PlotPolice lieutenant Nyman is murdered in his hospital bed and Martin Beck and his colleagues have another murder to solve. They discover that Nyman was a very brutal and tough policeman who received many complaints about his brutality. Particularly interesting is a complaint from Åke Eriksson, whose wife died in police custody because of Nyman. Eriksson climbs up on a roof in central Stockholm and starts to shoot at people on the street below...

Stalker 1979

10-10

This is a movie that may be perceived different by each viewer, due to our interactions and who we are..............affecting interpretation. As some of the meaning of life questions started with “Solaris”......though now we are taken on a journey basically to question everything including our own role in life.

Fargo Season 1 - 9/10

Wish there were more TV shows this good. It's actually better than even something like "True Detective".
Seems this isn't available on any streaming channels except for Hulu. I bought each episode and they were worth every penny.
Took me weeks to finish it though. This show is a little slow and not exactly meant for binge watching IMO.

Also, surprised how good this still looks on my new 4K TV. Even the non-HD episodes looked amazing.

Judge Dredd (1995) - 4/10

Hilariously bad overacting in some scenes. Nearly all of this was bad, but I did like the scenes with Hersel from "The Walking Dead".

There is also some comedy in it, which helped keep me watching. I probably would have turned it off.

BTW I read on wiki this was submitted for a rating five times and kept getting NC-17. Stallone actually wanted it to be PG-13!

I still remember the days when action movies used to be a LOT more gory/graphic than they are now.

Remember stuff like "Starship Troopers" and "Total Recall" etc?

"Demolition Man" is much better and sort of similar movie starring Stallone. Watch that instead!

The Lighthouse

What a Dumpster Fire.
If you could make a movie equivalent to Masturbation, an exercise in needless self Stroking....This movie would be it.
Makes zero sense, really good acting, insane script, that requires a FAT BLUNT to get any meaning out of.
Pure unadulterated insanity.

QFT. I've used words to that effect myself to describe this dumpster fire of a movie. Starts off middling and then rapidly deflates into a big steaming pile of utter nothingness. One for the hipster pseudo-connoisseurs, superficial and absolutely pointless.

How this thing got greenlit is beyond me. If I was an investor, I would be pissed.

The Walking Dead: Season 1 - 8/10

I've seen most seasons at least 6 times now and this time I thought it'd be fun for me to rate each episode and get an average rating.
Can't say it enough, but if you generally hate horror movies, you may still like this. I avoid all horror movies really, but absolutely love this series.
Mostly for all it's interesting characters and the whole survival aspect of it. My favorite characters were Glenn, Hershel and Dale (!!).
Never could stand Andrea and Negan for some reason. Annoying that Negan is now a series regular.

1: Day's Done By (10)
2: Guts (8)
3: Tell it to the Frogs (7.5)
4: Vatos (6)
5: Wildfire (7)
6: TS-19 (10)

Season 2 is my favorite by far! The more I watch it, the more I dislike Season 5. Season 5's best episodes are at the very end.
Seasons 7 and 8 went way down-hill, but they recovered the show in Season 9. Season 10 was bad IMO until the mid-season finale.

Doc Martin: Season 1 - 10/10
Doc Martin: Season 2 - 8/10

If I had to pick my all time favorite TV series it would probably be this or "The Walking Dead". Even over something like "Breaking Bad".
Netflix really needs to pick up this show. It's a bit hard to find. For $6/month I subscribe to "Acorn" and stream every episode.
I once scored the entire Box set of seasons 1-5 at Goodwill for $2!!
I actually discovered this show due to it being on PBS and was hooked.

PS Unrelated note. Finished Fargo Season 1 a few weeks ago and loved it and gave it a 9/10.
Immediately bought Season 2 and find it HORRIBLE! Currently on Episode 4 or 5 and find it painful just to watch 5 minutes of it.
I find it extremely boring/dull and it's mostly style over substance. Lots of scenes with people talking about non-sense that's not important to the story.
I'll try to finish it.

Flight 7500 made around 2012-2014 but not released due to the loss of MA370. The movie eventually was released in 2016. Don’t confuse this with the German movie “7500” out 2019.
Gets an 8 for a spooky plot.

funny you should mention this as i saw the original silent movie with peter lorre recently-i enjoyed it-i also need to check out some charlie chaplin stuff

The original Fritz Lang “M” is famous. One of the reasons this 1951 “M” has been relatively unknown. Still on the edge of seeing the original, haven’t seen it. Only seen Lang’s Metropolis, Ministry Of Fear, and his two Indian epics, forget their name? Need to put “M” on the list. There was also many in the 1951 “M” which were put on the Hollywood blacklist, which was another reason the version has been basically lost.
