Beowulf- 5.5/10 (can't decide between 5 and 6). I like that it was all CG so it was ambitious and the story ended up being more complex than it was in the beginning I thought it was going to terrible in the beginning. Also liked that Angelina Jolie was in it not that she did anything notable heh. So basically it wasnt good but it wasnt as bad as I thought, I was kind of dragged into watching it.

Well I thought Hitman was trash. Olyphant was a poor casting choice, the dialog felt really artificial, and everything felt a bit forced to me. I went in to the movie expecting it to be a typical terrible video game adaptation, and it met my expectations in that respect. I give it a 4.7 for entertainment value (man, there were a lot of action sequences) and eye candy (Olga Kurylenko is pretty dang cute imo).

Revolver, on the other hand, I thought was pretty good. It's a must see for all the Guy Ritchie fans out there, even though it is absolutely nothing like Snatch or Lock Stock. The general consensus is that this is a disappointment from Ritchie, and the screenplay is just too confusing. I say that it's a work of art, and I have gained respect for Guy Ritchie for making a movie that is such a deviation from his previous work despite what the average movie-goer expects from him. I score it a 7.6/10, and award Guy Ritchie with a tip of my hat.

I just watched The Big Lebowski for a class for the first time and it was just awesome in all aspects.
In terms of recent movies, I haven't gotten a chance to hit up a theater in a while but can't wait to check out I Am Legend.

Pirates of the Caribbean - Worlds End - Some of the best cgi I have ever seen. Story is good but long. 9/10

Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai - 7/10
Interesting and fairly gripping the whole way through, but a little unfocused. The constant invocation of Rashomon felt more like an intellectual affectation than anything crucial.

Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho - 7.5/10
Pretty good, but feels a little padded out, with some plot elements that could have been dropped without any real impact. The art is impeccable, though.

Byousoku 5 Centimeter - 9.5/10
But pales in comparison to this film, the most recent by Makoto Shinkai. The art is even better, almost obscenely so (definitely worth HD when it comes out), and the structure and style are much tighter.

Cinderella Man. I give it 5/10.

I shouldn't have watched this movie. I don't give a damn about sports, boxing included. So, it bored me. Plus I'm still angry at Clooney for taking a dump on stanislaw lem's Solaris (though, admittedly, it's hard to make a good movie of a book where the protagonist spends 1/3rd of his time reading in the library. I just thought Tarkovsky did a much better job.)

I also watched Casino Royale. I give it maybe a 6.5 because they couldn't decide whether to be retro or ultramodern or some sort of retro-modern, and because it seemed to spend a long time not ending.
