I wonder why the CA is so much better off the VM-1a compared to the TI. What is the reason? More power?

it is dramatically better for sure, to me the HSA-1b is better than amps using the adapter as well but the VM-1a is superb...seems to me direct drive is better than an adapter in front of an amp as well

It's no about TI itself, it's about 32 ohm impedance of TI doesn't properly load the outputs of Woo, Felix Envy, etc.
They need 100-120 Ohms to shine, and TI is much less.

Tube amps that are designed for 8-16 Ohm loads, like VIVA Egoista 845, work fantastically good.

Last report from Solaja, listening his new 300B (driven by 300B) SET amp with 8 Ohm output transformer, is that it works better than the VM.
Intriguing. . . Will his new 300B direct-drive the CA-1a and SR-1a like the VM? Or would you use the TI interface with it?

I appreciate your posts man!

Though, I have a hard time believing anything can best the CA/VM combo, but I haven't heard the setups you mention, so I don't know.

You really hit it out of the park with the CA and VM (though I know you don't make the VM anymore, as another company does). I really look forward to your new headphones. I will be one of the first to buy it (as long as it's not $10k+)

Can you give us a hint of the range of pricing for the Magni and Immanis?

Also, I like that you gave 6moons an exclusive, but I f hate their website...lol. They need a UX Researcher to fix that s.

Thanks! And I appreciate your support and candid impressions of my work!

I'm really walking the fine line here about the rules, and crossing them frequently, so I'll be quiet for another 10 days.
To my defense, if I unknowingly broke the forum rules, it was only about accurately informing the reader, not about blatant self-promotion.

I didn't think this discussion is going to happen, I just started preparing the FB Page, but then things exploded. I'm not complaining :), though, just saying it wasn't the plan to start abusing the rules here, as Jude and the crew here, were nothing but good and tolerant of me for years.

As hard as it is for me at this moment, it's time to start paying them back with some discipline on my part.

Srajan Ebaen was the first one (outside me and my crew) , who had listened to my prototype ribbon headphones back in 2008, when he came to visit us about RAAL-requisite Eternity speaker.

So...he'll forever have the precedence to be the first to review. :)

I have not heard the Hyperion Ge however; I believe it is SS gear and needs the TI-1b. Is this correct?

I am getting the VM-1a again (next week now). One thing to consider with VM-1a is the ability to roll tubes.

Yes, S-S, no output transformer that can be made for 0.25 Ohm loads and it's not designed to work direct as HSA.
It will drive speakers and headphones, but it needs to see ribbon interface for ribbon headphones.

Haven’t heard the VM-1, but working from my Aries Cerat Genus 16 ohm speakers output into the TI 16 ohm input, using Mitch filter, the sound is amazing. So much drive, dynamics and even good bass, along with the wonderful transparency and coherency of the ribbon.

Anyone else using the TI-1b with the 32 Ohm input?
