Apologies for bringing this up again. Are there any decent third party Play Store equalizer apps, that can be left running in the background and work with Amazon Music HD?

I basically want to set up the equalizer settings, then only have to open Amazon Music HD and start streaming music.

New OTA update today (10-12-2019).

Added Amazon Music Ultra HD at 192Khz

I saw that too on their FB post for v1.15G. The OTA update won't work, keep getting a "Network Connection Failed (Handshake Failed)" message. There's no manual update available on Hiby's site. Ideas how to get OTA working?

If you can connect by 5GHz instead of 2.4GHz, it's usually faster and more stable. Might try that if you are not already on 5GHz.

Weird that on the r5 now on Amazon hd it's always at 192 khz. Even when the song is in a lower bitrate, it always says 192k and the led is always green.

Currently have on loan the iBasso DX150, 160 and 220 and comparing them back and forth with the R5.

The screens on the iBasso's are really nice. The DX150/220 are gigantic compared to the R5, but I do like the size/form factor of the DX160. The iBassos are a bit frustrating to use when doing more than 1 thing at a time, as the can get bottlenecked pretty badly and then become unresponsive. I also noticed that Mango player has a delay when playing tracks and pressing skip. Can be a 1-3 second pause between tracks, even with Gapless playback on. Not an issue when using a third-party music player though, so seems like inherently Mango player issue.

Both iBasso DX160 and 220 seems to have more treble extension than the R5, and the R5 is definitely the most mid-centric of the bunch. The DX160 seems to tilt brighter than the others too. I havent given the DX150 much of a shake since it's been a frustrating experience using it with touch lag, UI lag, and general usability ... lag. Yea. Lag.

I had the 220 for a while, but after a couple of days it got choppy. Also it didn't play my high bit rate wma files. But it did sound good, but not good enough to ignore the way the UI was acting. I also had the m11, and kept that.

I guess they've been using the same soc for years.

Is it only the led that indicates 192Khz or does the app always show 192Khz Even if the song is 44.1 KHz for example?
Amazon music latches on to the highest sample rate supported by the player and locks on to that, no matter what music is playing. That's just how the app works.

I just noticed the "soundfield" plugin, which uses some sort of magic to make things sound wider. I don't think I've seen this before and I'm wondering if it is contributing to the new sound impressions. Did I just miss it? It seems to work well until you get towards the 2.0 point, then it sounds off.
