Yes I heard that stuff was going to be down sampled by android on the zx500. I also don't know about Amazon HD service, I know that works on R5. I'd try the Sony and dx160 just out of curiosity.

The zx500 doesn't have me excited as the zx300 did and I had the dx220 and had some problems with it and personally didn't notice a difference in sound quality from the daps I was previously using m11 and wm1a.

Other than the dx220 having a bit tighter bass. I think you'll be pleased with r5, I'd be surprised if you weren't ha ha.

Well its 3 stops away on Amazon tracking (about .5 mile) so should have within next 20 mins I'd have thought. A had ZX300 but most of my listening is streaming services (and offline) and been using a V30+ until another DAP caught my interest. Don't want a big DAP. ZX300 was perfect size.

amazon.de currently has it, but price is higher comparing to buying from Hiby directly, it's 485.69€

5 minute Out of Box with my Shure SE846's.

Player size weight is great, straight to playing a DSD and the Mojo (and of course Hugo2) is better but those do something magical with DSD's. Much further testing later. Initial impression is a thumbs up.

I can't play my MQA tracks or Tidal via UAPP in the UAPP app with MQA add on because it has to use the Android Audio not Hi-Res driver?

Looks like no Tidal MQA via UAPP unless using UAPP HiRes driver (not Android).

No issue as Tidal app is doing the 1st unfold anyway to 24/96.

The player DAP itself hardware/software best I've had. Love how bitrate is always show and power button changes colour to match.

This ones not going back to Amazon.

I guess it's an issue with hiby dta. Soon tidal should be doing the full unfold, well hopefully soon. It would be cool if you could disable the dta for just for specific circumstances like this.

I even like messing with the dsp effects sometimes (mseb)and even the 10 band is decent. Yep the hiss is pretty much non existant, even even on balanced- high gain. Glad you like it, I think they did a bang up job on this little dap.

Hi,

Yes, and according to Hiby there is no direct mode, so no MQA decoding is possible. The best quality according to them is to use the Android driver and set the sample rate option to 'Variable rate'.
