Questyle CMA Fifteen — Official Thread

@ra990

Good question! I can tell you for starters that we did not include the 1/4" jack as a triviality... we've done everything we can make sure it is just as powerful and authentic as all of the other output options. I'll check in with the engineers and let you know if they have any other specifics they want to add. Glad to hear you're enjoying the CMA Fifteen so far!

@itsnein

Alright, the engineers got back to me and said that you can first try to update the firmware to version v1.18. This update includes changes to the MQA processing and should solve the problem.

I have your email on file so I'll send the newest firmware directly to your gmail account.
Does Questyle plan to publish this firmware update? I've been having some issues with MQA playback over USB and wasn't able to find the 1.18 firmware. I am also on 1.15. Thanks

@ra990

We are working on doing just that as we speak, it's a bit more complicated than it looks but we are hoping to get it done soon. In the meantime, give me your email address and I'll send the instructions to you.

And regarding your question about the outputs, you can refer to the table below:

The 1/4" (6.35mm) output has a different max output power and slightly different SNR than the XLR or 4.4mm balanced outputs, but other than those two specs, the quality of the sound is the same 😄

@Questyle

I connected my CMA Fifteen and Samsung Smart TV with optical cable, but the OPT indicator doesn't light up.
Sound is output normally.
The USB, S/PDIF, ANALOG, and BLUETOOTH indicators are normally lit.
Is this situation due to the defect of the product?

@ra990

Still looking into this issue for you. The engineers are checking it out and I'll let you know as soon as they have a firm response. Thanks for your patience.
I think you mean to address @CMA Fifteen, not me?

Ah yes you're right, my apologies. Meant to @CMA Fifteen

The engineers got back to me. They said that this is a known issue indeed, but only under a very small set of specific conditions (such as yours), and it doesn't at all affect the audio quality or signal path. It's only a light malfunction, nothing more.

Let me PM you for more details.

@Questyle I have the latest USB driver and firmware installed on a Windows 10 x64 machine. I don't have any 32bit output options, either in windows sound control panel or in the ASIO control panel. I have 16 and 24 bit output options only. The specs list the CMA Fifteen as capable up to 768k/32bits, is there a limitation on the driver or firmware? Could you please confirm? Thanks in advance.

@ra990 In the meantime, could you share more details of the brand and model number of your computer?
It's an intel nuc, specs here. As I mentioned, running a clean install of windows 10 x64 with the latest CMA drivers and firmware. Same issue on my other computer, so unlikely to be related to the computers.
