Let's not forget the baby carseat strap cover method.

I use these (turned inside out) just wrapped around the headband and it works fine.  You can just walk in and get em at Babies R Us or the like.  I happened to have extras from the carseat that my son has outgrown.  Bonus!

Photo of someone else shamelessly ripped from earlier in the thread.  I'm pretty sure that's @Evshrug.  He uses the exact same one as me.

The real USP of the Q is that it is heavily discounted. If it were to be compared with the Sennheiser HD650 it would be game over. IMO.

You're probably right.  But as it is, it's less than half the cost.  Now I wonder how the K712 compares to the HD650...

I had a pair of HD600 at the same time as my Q701, K702 65 anniversary and K712.

IMO the K712's sound signature is about spot on with the HD600. The K712 was overall superior, providing a better soundstage, imaging and detail retrieval.

Fwiw, I think the Q701 is superior to the K712, and by extension the HD650. If you give them enough power they really pull out the details and space of a recording.

there's something else that cannot be fix through methods like this,
especially If you have a larger head,
covering the bumps will further increase clamp force.
but i guess that is not a problem for people with small head.

actually it barely increases the size since it is low density foam. It's pretty much the same size when you wear it unless a few millimeters matters that much

however the bump itself is already limiting the size of big heads compare to my Anni.
I have absolutely no issue with my annie's comfort and the Q701 only fits my head when its all the way extended and hence the strong clamp force.

you do realize that the bumps are 0.5 centimeters tall right, and it pushes down slightly when you wear it? I don't think that's what limiting your big head. It's the overall design of the headphone which was made to be more stylish

yeah you are right,
but since those bump already shorten max extension i would prefer a fix that will increase max extension and minimize clamp.
really wish Q701 can be just as comfy as my Anni, because i prefer the sound of my Q701 than the Anni's.

So does flipping the headband inside out a good choice at all, or should i order some 601 or Anni headband?

It seems like it's made to bend a certain way. It would work, but I'm not sure how comfortable it would be if you flipped it around

Hey guys, Do you guys think it is still worth getting the Q701 or should I look into other options?

Depends on genre of music & pref sound signature

Genre of music, dubstep and top hits. Not a bass head but I like some bass. Also I'm a competitive gamer.

There isn't much out that that competes with the Q for competitive gaming in the price range.  The K612 and HP200 are two that around the same price that people also like.  You could look into those.

That said, I <3 my Q for everything (including competitive gaming and music) and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Comfort Wise I will go for the 702.65.
But if you are able to get Q701 for around 150 USD I will also recommend it.
However if you do get the Q701 and wanted to do something to the annoying headband,
you will be exactly the same shoe as i am right now.

sound wise they are almost the same, a little brighter on the Q701.
comfort wise 702.65 wins big time. same goes for the even newer K712.

I got my 702.65 for around 350
and my new Q701 is only about 160 with mXssdrXp.

Took me a while to get 702.65. The 702.65 is actually quite expensive. They cost about $400 on AmazonUSA and $600+ on AmazonCAN.

Hi all

I have just received Q701s China made.. I have an issue with them, when there is any low bass even at moderate listening levels there is low vibration/hum from the left ear cup. It's not something you can ignore as it ruins tracks. Can anyone offer some advise on what action to take to rectify the problem or should I just RMA.

Thanks

They can't really do dubstep tbh.
