gave it to my mom after i listed to her earphones that came default with the mp3 player. Too bad she hated the "complicated" storage procedure and tossed it back to me. oh well.

i'm always bemused & intrigued by the love px100's get in here, more amazed that they can make such sound from basically something that looks like it comes with 1980's walkman. i'll keep hold of mine then, i wanna see what people are saying in years to come!

There's no way I'm ever going to part with my px100's , they are very forgiving with old or bad recordings ( Charlie parker etc.)

I cant decide on a single "best" headphone, but i do use my 100's alot on portable. Theyre fine amped and unamped.

Two questions:

Is the pk2 a good upgrade ? ( or would I miss the bass and warmth of the senns)

Is an amp worth it to get a slightly tighter and more dynamic sound? ( I can get an Ibasso P-1 for not to much cash)

The PK2 are definitely more detailed, but don't have the bass impact that the PX100's do. So ask yourself, how important is punchy bass? That should decide you.

My 300th post goes well-deservedly to PX100. And more specifically to the older version. Own two pairs and hopefully they last long. And they probably will, if compared to PortaPro which seemed much flimsier.

Very comfortable and smooth sounding. First better-than-average headphones that I bought. It was love at first listen.

They sound great without an amp. However with an amp or powerful PCDP like old metal Sonys the bass tightens up and overall the sound is greatly improved.

My headphone of choice for traveling and listening in bed. And also for some electronica.

Best 40 some bucks I have ever spent. I consider them to be a gateway drug to hi-fi....
