Pure i-20 iPod/iPhone Dock as a DAC

I was thinking about getting a cable, but wasn't sure if they would pass through all the pin data.  I guess this does though?

The dockXtender uses all the pin data as far as I can tell. I know it allows charging and audio from iPhone to i20.

I wuld assume the physical size of a ipad wuld not allow it supported by the much smaller cradle of PURE i20
However I found a 30pin male/female docking extender for a ipad which we could use to connect the male PURE i20 pins to the ipad female connector.
We can then have the ipad flat on the table.

Or is there another issue outside the connectors ie. the  Ipad audio files are not compatible to read by PURE i20 ?

Does the Pure i-20 benefit the Bifrost and Lyr combo when bypassing the internal dac at all?

I'm just trying to find a way to connect my ipad to my Bifrost and get the cleanest signal possible.

My chain will look like: Ipad > Pure i-20 > optical > Bifrost > Lyr.

Or if possible, is there any alternatives that give clean signal for an ipad and acts as a good dock?

I currently send all my music files on my Ipad2, Iphone, Ipod Touch to my Apple TV via Airplay then Toslink out to my Audio Engine D1 but this PureI 20 is interesting to have in lieu of the expensive Wadia . I wonder if it's worth $99 to try if there is an improvement by using the Pure I 20?

I was utterly shocked how well mine works.  I spent a month denying the obvious to myself - that, for $100, it competently does what MUCH more expensive gear does.  I liked it so much I even sold off my DAC.  For $100, I'd suggest it's a VERY low risk proposition.  And yes, I still feel weird admitting all of this.  lol

Absolutely!  The Pure i20 is superb.  I like it's DAC as well as my other DAC's (which are some of the best)... and... maybe better with my PS1000's.

iPod >> Pure i20 >> Silver Interconnects >> WA6 SEm >> PS1000's or PS500's... is... a phenomenal combo... which is very hard to believe!

Just order it from Amazon... and... put the pressure on them to back-order the i20 from Pure.  That's how I got mine - took about 2 weeks from order to receipt.  At $99 it is a huge bargain!

The Pure i20 Digital Dock is quite possibly the best value in Audio, at only $99.

iPod Touch 4G >> Pure i20 >> WA6 SEm >> PS1000's... produces some incredibly "real, live" sound, with staging, imaging and positioning that is hard to believe.

Hi,

I have purchased a Pure i-20 to connect my iPod Classic (160 GB) 2009 Version to my HT set up. I would like to know what is the purpose of the Video Connectors - will it transfer the entire display screen on the iPod to a TV or will it only display Video's that are played in the Ipod to a connected TV?

Many thanks,
Jag
