We are two days away from the release of Haken's first two albums 'Aquarius' and 'Visions' remastered.

Thanks a lot you weasel. The anticipation is killing me. Worse because my Prog Master in Chicago who rips for me has his twins' birthday party on Friday so I have to wait until Saturday at the earliest to hear them.

When did family come before progressive music? What the hell is happening to the world?

Trying to get into the new Odd Logic album, as I liked their stuff in the past. However, I feel like the mixing on this is bad. Feels like the SE used really dark headphones during mixing as the whole album lacks a low end foundation and the top end it brittle and strident. Feels super lean sounding to me. Anyone else?

I am going to try and give a listen today. Their last one was wonderful, with horrible production issues. Hopefully this one has better production.

I am generally not bothered with swearing. I do, however, feel it just doesn't fit the tenor of prog music - which I consider more highbrow than most other forms of music.

I really enjoyed this one. The production is not perfect yet, but much better than their last effort. With this album I feel like they are giving me the sound I wanted from Opeth. I do feel like Sorceress is a bit of wheel spinning for Opeth, and maybe Soen in time will show us they are taking the mantle........please don't hate on me too much (or ban me)

I know you do not like 'Sorceress' nor did I initially. However, with more listens I "got" what Mikael was trying to achieve a reimagining of 70's era progressive influences. The distorted bass for example was an homage to Deep Purple's 'Machine Head' era sound. Personally, 'Sorceress' is Opeth's best album since 'Watershed'.

I see the soen/tool argument with their debute, but Tellurian if anything was more opeth like to my ears than tool. This latest shows they are getting their own sound going, and hopefully they do something really interesting for their next one.

Thank you for the description of Soen's second album 'Tellurian'. I did not like their debut album so I never gave the second a listen but you are dead right on the second album. I hate to admit this but I am really enjoying 'Tellurian'. It maybe a poor man's Opeth but I really missed Martin Lopez' percussion.

He is a beast on tellurian. I just wish the mix didn't have so much mid bass so his drums were not so boomy.

The dynamics are awful but dammit this is like a lost 'Ghost Revelries' era Opeth album sans the death growls. I am really digging it thank you again.
