I watched Big Big Train's latest live release "A Flare on the Lens" tonight. And damn was it good. Solid production and with world class musicians with Maria Barbieri on guitar and the whole brass ensemble. Like a blend of progressive rock and folk rock. I usually like heavier stuff but I enjoyed this thoroughly. Kind of makes me wanna go see them if I have the opportunity! :beerchug:

On my second play through now, I like it, it has a Hawkwind vibe which I very much enjoy - Nice find :L3000:

You've done it again, I really enjoyed this and am now listening to their previous album, which is also very good.

Due to STUPID new rule, I am unable to post in this thread until somebody else does :rage:

Leap of Faith (2021) by Derev - I've listened to this fairly short album (36 min) twenty two times since discovering it on February 1st, I just can't get enough of it. It's kind of prog-metal/rock with a twist of Armenian and a Kuwaiti garnish, although they are based in Canada. The music is powerful but melodic and the vocals remind me of Joel Ekelof of Soen, which is no bad thing.

Cymbalic Encounters- Multiverse
(I love these guys but I’m really impressed with this one as the guitarist (Yoshinori Seki) really stands out in front)

Thanks for posting this, I already had four of their albums in my ROON library but thanks to this I took another look at their discography and Qobuz has added a whole bunch more - I know what I'll be listening to tonight :)

Post-metal meets prog is how I'd describe these guys. Each of their albums has a different energy and they vary quite a bit from one another stylistically, too. This one is probably ny favorite.
