Professional vs Home: Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro vs Beyerdynamic Amiron Home

Your C-2 should cost 450 US, plus shipping cost. Not sure where you are getting 400 from. Are you in Canada? I am, and I had to pay duty on top of the shipping cost, which sucked. Your bill should have a breakdown of all the charges and what they are for.
Yes man, they want to make two separate payments and the lower one ($150) to show to the customs incase I get caught...it's 400+150 in total.. somehow I do not understand their calculation, should I share a snapshot of the mail they sent me ??

Yes, so obviously you are going to be charged duty as well, just like I was. If you don't live in the USA, you will get hammered with duty charges on top. It sucks ass, believe me.

On a side note, I sold my Amirons after modding my DT 1770. Did mass load and dampening, with XL Brainwavz pads and it really opened the sound vs stock pads (pulled that foam out too). Highly recommended as a closed back. The mass dampening kit is like $12 from custom cans UK.

U took the words out of my mouth...I will in the world's shittiest country in the whole universe - 'INDIA' ...they charge 45-50% of invoice value as customs...can u ****ing believe it...I ended up paying much more money than a D30 for a D10

Tbh I was really looking forward to the nfb 11 because I've heard a lot of praise about that...so audio gd was on my radar but c2 is damn good but don't have that much money now...

Well, just like I was, you are going to be ripped off on the price of the C-2 amp. I had to pay way more than 450 US as well. The Canadian dollar is a joke compared to the US dollar. In the end, I paid over 650 Canadian for it. I don't remember the exact cost I paid, but it was over 650 with bull charges. The only positive is that the C-2 is an sounding excellent amplifier with tons of power, and will last you for years.

Interesting....1770s took over your amirons'....1770 had few complaints about the sound though modding fixes that...but it's prone to rattling and qc issues...Beyer lately has very poor qc...its a shame...even my Amiron home cable ****ed after 5 months of purchase... connection issue... impossible to be caused via abuse. They replaced it but again it was not expected from a $600 hp...or may be my pair was one among the thousands

Yes..I actually compared the power rating with proud schitt amps...which boast power well in this case was the Valhalla 2 but the c2 had incredible power delivery into a 600ohm impedance hps with 10 years of warranty which is unbelievable value.

Yeah, no QC issues on my pair. They're great. I just need the cash. Selling those and my Hiby R6

I had a dream of Beyer launching a 600 ohm Amiron Home edition...like a anniversary jubilee edition or something like that which had flawless soundstage, treble ,mids, imaging, mids, bass everything and turned out to be a HD 800 killer...throw that overpriced crap out of the market !!!

Wow...I'm really tempted but I guess I'll never be able to try one....do u know mrtechagent...he has a YouTube channel too...he's so lucky to have 3-4 dt 48 edition s... sadly I won't be able to hear one...HD 600 is known for quality mid-range but if Beyer's dt 48 is better than them...y release other models... bring the vintage dt series back....lol I Kno w it's never gonna happen but beyer's previous models where better than new gen or upcoming headphones... unbelievable

The DT 48/480 aren't for everyone, especially stock. They're different and unique sounding. You need to spend time with them honestly, a short listen and you likely won't properly appreciate what they do. Wouldn't be surprised if most people dislike them or feel confused by them in stock form. But with extended listening there is no denying it's driver fidelity, didn't take me long to realize the massive modding potential of the DT 480. The DT 48 seems like it would be harder to mod well. Yeah I know mrtechagent, wanting to listen to his headphone. Honestly I've been happy with the new Tesla's. The Tesla 2.0's and the newer T1.2 have all been headphones I've loved.
