Here we have 2 rottweiler .. both very friendly and very unlike the 'stereotypical' breed image. Both taken at Mutts & Mittens Pte Ltd - Home

Goldie , a little on the hyper and stubborn side but stil very adorable..

Hannibal - His temperament doesn't suit his name's reputation.. very good with humans though not that firendly with other dogs. Very eager to get his head rubbed though..

This was taken on a walk last sunday. It's made on film and later on digitalized. The vignetting is caused by the sunhood of the lens. Never noticed it before because I have not often shot in wideangle with my analog camera. Really bad but it works on this picture. It's not the best but oh well...:

Chef, one thing I noticed with your second picture is that there is a lot of stuff out of focus close up, and the focused item is much farther back. Often times it can be a big distraction. I know for me I don't respond well to it.
The top picture is a lot easier on my eyes, more in focus close up, and only at the far back does it go out of focus.

Really like this one, nicely dark, reminds of fall.

I took this today walking around the Ankara castle. All the buildings in this part of town have been made out ruins of other buildings for hundreds of years. Here's an example of a building stone being used in a different application than it was intended:

Undoubtedly the most fun and challenging ring to shoot in.. good test of the AI servo on the 1 series given the dim Expo lighting. I still need alot more practice for action shots..

Weaving requires very fast directional changes... look how much the body is angled..

For this last one please see http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/PE/877411.jpg first then..

Look familiar? Maybe the dog saw the movie too..

In case you are wondering no i did not buy a 1 series. I rented one to see if that's what I really wanted.. I guess I'm thoroughly poisoned now haha..

raptor84, which lens did you use?

What were you use to using and what did you rent?

If you do action / sports, the faster / more accurate cameras make a huge difference as well as the lenses which autofocus faster.

I'm still getting used to the benefits of shooting with a DSLR, and have not yet adapted to the full manual control offered by the D40, but here are a few shots I took today after experimenting with different lighting, aperture, and shutter speeds for the first time. Feedback is welcome and would be much appreciated.
