Yeah, i have done it 3 times now. How many times have you done it? First time mine was out for 3hrs in A&E, hurt so bad, did so much damadge. The i did it sitting down the second time, it popped back in and i went for an xray, really worked hard on physio and it was ok until now.

Thought it wasnt gonna happen again, always, now, subconsiously thinking about how i stand and sit, but i had just come off of my bike, and i just wanted to get up, like you do just like when you fall over in public, and i just didnt think about it, just got up, from a funny position, and popped it out, and while standing on one leg, popped it back in, picked up my bike and walked off.

Tempted fate really, the mate i was with has done it 5 times, and we were talking about it at his an hour before

So far it has happened to me twice.

The first time was during gym class. I bent over to pick up a ball, and must have kicked my knee out to the side. It popped out and hurt so bad! Trying to move the leg was extreme pain. The gym teacher didn't know what to do, so I had to goto the hospital. By the time I arrived at the hospital, a lot of muscle died off. I had to have the blood sucked out, and they put me in a brace. I didn't move it for a few weeks. All of this made it very hard for me to get back to normal. It was a chore just to move my knee under my own power at first, and it took me about 4 years to finally get back to normal.

Then back about a year ago, I jumped on my bed and it popped out again. Thankfully, I was on the bed and didn't collapse to the ground this time. It also popped back in, and didn't hurt bad. For the next week or so it felt strange, but it went back to normal within the next week or two. I am so thankful it wasn't like the first time!

Doctor said if it ever happens again, just try and pop it back in. (Shudder)

Still, once in a while I can feel a strange feeling in my knee as if I almost over did it. I always have to be conscious of how I bend over, lie down, or stand up. I no longer have the confidence to do sports like Akaido or whatnot. :sigh:

Just the way my knee is shaped. ~_~

Here is a pic I took the other day with a Rebel XT and the kit lens (18-55mm).
The only PP was a little sharpening in PS and some cropping.

That's one fine lens you have there Wil.
Does the connector keep the digital controls, or does it essentially become a manual focus and exposure lens?

That's an AI-S isn't it? Did the 1.4 come in AI?

I love that intensely-colourful shot of hanging carpets. The slight off-centered look really adds to the composition. Well done!

Focus is manual on all cameras, but metering will work on Nikon's "semi-Pro/Pro" bodies. I would love to have a set of nice AI(-S) primes, eg 35/1.4, 50/1.4, 85/1.4. Of course, one can dream about the 58/1.2 and 50/1.2 too

Thanks Towert, it is indeed a very good piece of kit.

It was a manual lens to begin with, so it remains a manual lens on the canon. The adapter does have a chip built in so it helps with focusing. When in focus, it allows the camera to confirm focus with a beep. Also, it allows for shooting in Aperture priority ( set aperture manually on the lens itself and the body adjusts shutter speed accordingly. )

So yea, it's pretty much a manual focus and exposure lens!

And yes milkpower, thats the 50mm 1.4 AI-S. It looks ok from the front but in reality the body is pretty banged up. But the important thing is the glass is still in pristine condition! And thanks for the comments :)

(ohoh, and you'll be happy to know that the carpet shot with taken with the Nikkor 50mm 1.4 u see mounted on my 450D! )
