I meant how long did you have to wait for the ambient light to be correct, find the right place to snap the shot, etc. etc.

For example when I was in Austria recently I waited for almost 2 hours for it to get dark enough for the shot I was looking for.

Just a walkabout really so I didn't need to wait, the fog helped a lot with the ambience of the shot though.

I finally caught this mother Ruby Throated Hummingbird and one of her 3 young at my feeder today. These little fellas are hard to catch with a digital camera. I set my Olympus FE-310 into sports mode and waited....

Not too bad considering I was about 25 feet away at the maximum optical zoom for this camera.

Agnostic, I like the top picture you posted. The building is almost invisible.

Thanks agnostic (and everyone else!). I really like your second reflection - the tone and transparency is different from what you normally see.

One more from yesterday... purely luck as I was packing up to head back:

Haven't posted one of these guys in a while. I found this guy in a rainforest in Xishuang Banna during our China trip. He was a bit larger than my hand.

MrVile, are you still using the Canon 70-200L F/4?

Nope, switched to the 70-300IS a while ago. I only had the 70-200/4L for a couple of days, actually. Most of the later macros I posted in this thread are actually taken with the 70-300IS.
