Post Your Internet Speed : )

My internet may be a sick joke, but at least it's cheap :D

Frankly, for the amount I do on the internet it's usually enough. It's a rare day when I download anything, and I hate streaming video anyway.

That upload is painful, but the ping makes it all better. :P
Average ping I get on my home connection is 70.

My speed test results are,
Downloading speed - 1020Kbps
Uploading speed- 466Kbps..
I performed my internet speed test here    IP-Details.com . Is this good or not?

This is a very basic speed. Not as basic as some others on this thread but in terms of EU countries and US it is below avg.

@ivantoar
Very low upload speed though. Doing p2p or having other people use the internet could have effects that retard the overal speed of regular web browsing due to a congested upload.

@imperial
Im guessing its because he is at a college or university (place of higher learning) that has man people

Hmm, the ping is a bit high, don't you think?

Exactly as Bowie said, there are 50,000 people at my institution.

As far as I know, almost all cable or ADSL internet service in the country I'm residing only care about download speed as they don't list how much upload speed that we can get in their websites or advertisements. But they do list their promised upload speed on their fiber optic plan.

I think it's because of people will more likely care about download speed than upload speed.

You are trolling. UK avg speed is about 7.6Mb/s and U.S is 5Mb/s approx for both. This is download without consideration for ping or upload. I am jelly of your connection.

lol. it's only because I see companies like Virgin Media offering 100Mbps and I get jealous :P

At the moment i'm with BT with their Infinity package, it's actually not too shabby

Huh, in my country speed for home users is limited to 128kbps by the government. And for a 4mbps companies should pay $1000 for a unlimited download contract ... Even 3G networks are limited to 128 kbps and so....
