Thx above. I'm just looking for a easy way to shiit on my couch and listen to MQA files through tidal. A laptop is rather bulky on my lap.
shiit on my couch .
If you download Tidal tracks to a SD on a DAP for offline use, can you then transfer the SD to another device?
You sure can but your Tidal tracks won't work, it that s what you're aiming at.
Does it load up and start the songs faster than the other DAPs?Acoustic Research M20 deserves a look, flawless tidal browsing/streaming via the AR Pro player with eq support and hifi streaming. I prefer my M20 to DX200, X7, X5 or Cayin 5i for tidal
Yes, using the propriety player, tidal loads and plays quicker than any other player I've used.Does it load up and start the songs faster than the other DAPs?
And how's it compare with a smartphone?Yes, using the propriety player, tidal loads and plays quicker than any other player I've used.
I should mention that I have both the arm2 and arm20 and both do a great job playing tidal with the latest firmware update.
The quality is far superior to a smartphone because the AR Pro player is "bit perfect", however most smartphones have more ram so if you rather use the tidal app instead it will run much smoother on a smartphone. And how's it compare with a smartphone?
Thanks.
Sure, I was just talking about how Tidal runs. The quality is far superior to a smartphone because the AR Pro player is "bit perfect", however most smartphones have more ram so if you rather use the tidal app instead it will run much smoother on a smartphone.
I've been using the Pioneer XDP-300R and while it may not be the absolute best sounding DAP I have ever heard, it does work very well with Tidal and Spotify apps. Storing files for offline listening on a micro SD card works as it should, with just the occasional hiccup in playback. The Tidal android UI is just okay, but once you get used to its idiosyncrasies, it's fine. Like others here, I wish there was an easy EQ solution for use with Tidal. The player's EQ only affects stored files (not Tidal or Spotify files).
Slightly off-topic, but how much of a battery life are you getting out of your DAP when you are streaming from Spotify / Tidal?
