I'm a complete noob at this.
If you have a portable amp dac too use with ur mp3 player, will you then use the external dac or do you just use the amp?

And also, what is rolling opamps?

If your mp3 player has a digital output (optical, coax or usb that bypasses its internal dac) then you can use an external dac/amp. If it only has a line/hp out then you can only use the dac/amp's amp if it has a line/aux input.

Rolling opamp allows you to swap or change the existing opamp of your amp so that it sounds a little different. But you can only do this if it has an opamp socket instead of the original opamp soldered in. You can also unsolder the original opamp and put a socket in its place. But you have to consider its height. Also, not all opamps will work if they are not pin compatible or their voltage requirement is higher or lower than your amp can provide.
