I was going to say that also.

Finally found the appropriate thread....
My 2 cents guys and it should help answer some questions that's been posted on this thread
This seems interesting but I really can't see something new in the dap world. Though the kickstarter price is nice, I would order just to try and support quality music but October 2014 is bad date man. It is too late, we will have many more daps before they ship their Pono's.
Also how thick is that? Is it slimmer than DX100 or HM901 for example? The shape is as you know, a bit weird.
The dimensions of the PonoPlayer are 5” (H) x 2” (W) x 1” (D)

I politely disagreed and advocated an open format and player, which I said would allow Neil to be the hero of the music industry. I pointed out that Linn customers would be the biggest supporters of Pono, if the music could be played on our existing DS systems, computers, iPods, etc. He literally banged his fist on the table when refuting my suggestions, such was his vehemence on the issue.
Apparently my efforts were in vain, as I was later told by his record company that I was "the man who said 'No' to Neil Young". Neil was working with ex-Netflix encryption bods on a water-marking system. That was the last I heard, in January 2012.
So who IS the competition today?
Sorry for the ignorance but I'm not up on DAP players as I don't listen to music outside the home and car.
The thing about Pono is they say a lot studios are behind them including rarer labels.
I don't listen to Popular music so the bigger more expansive the catalog the better for me.
This question of support is what's keeping me from ordering one today.

Digitalfreak, thanks for sharing the video and your thoughts. Especially the part where you describe the shape of the device...LOL
All kidding aside, thanks. Good stuff
