The newly announced SONORA and VOLTA IEMs will be making their very first appearance at CanJam SoCal this weekend. We will be present in three booths, so be sure to stop by Bloom Audio, Headphones.com, and FatFreq exhibits to audition them, along with our latest cables and accessories.

Placed my order for the Volta today as it has a more neutral tuning. It will be paired with my RSA F-35 which I have found really brings out the best in IEMs. It does excellent presentations with my Allegro. I also ordered new RSA 4.4 mm adapters out of the Copper XL to match the cabling of the Volta. I did mail off my F-35 to PLUSSOUND so they get a chance to hear their new IEMs with it before shipping my adapters and Volta.

I hope the SoCal CanJam comments will cover these new IEMs.

No. I talked with about the tuning of both. I use a balanced amplifier and the Volta seemed the better pairing. I sent my amp to them to test with the 2 new IEMs. They are also making custom adapters with the same wire for my amp.
When you're getting Volta?

Morning everyone! Posting this post CanJam as I get caught up at my favorite coffee shop with my favorite Vietnamese Coffee (310 Coffee in Mar Vista, CA).

I’m very excited for you all to get some eartime on these soon. We will be prepping a tour to launch them into the community over next few weeks!

These are the first TOTL models in my career I had a heavy hand in influencing sound wise and I’m very proud of what the team at @PLUSSOUND has accomplished, taking all of your community feedback from Allegro and making not one but two unique listening experiences.

Sonora (photographed on my iPhone) is a 2 DD 4 BA 2 EST priced at $3000. It is a V shaped sound with TOTL imaging and detail as well as a wider than deep soundstage. Overall, the sound - unlike the Allegro (all rounder) and Volta (more nuetral, U shaped) is musical and engaging.

It has excellent bass quantity and texture with deep enough extension for me, lush mids, and highs that give me enough detail and layering without it being fatiguing like some of you noted while listening to the Allegro. The Sonora, genre wise, performed well with me on EDM, film scores, hip hop, and alternative.

Overall, I think this one will be my personal favorite. To get the “it’s good” from @Chang (the guy behind the the Nightjar Acoustics Singularity and Duality) when I handed these to him for a listening test meant a lot.

Up next on our release calendar is Volta. It is a 2 DD 2 BA 2 EST model priced at $2500. The intention for Volta was to build off of a Harman with sub bass boost kind of tune, and see what we could do with it to result in something that was fast and precise, leaning neutral but maintaining the idea that things can be neutral but not boring.

I think in ear that the Volta is more of a U shaped listen - to me, it has a deeper than wide soundstage and similar imaging and detail to the Sonora, which edges out slightly.

Bass is tight and accurate, mids fill out the mix nicely, and the highs are sparkly but not fatiguing. The Volta is fit for genres like metal, prog rock, and acoustic because of this presentation.

For me, as I’m more of a mood based listener looking for a different sound, the Volta fills my need looking for something that maintains the “as meant to be heard” idea whereas the Sonora is a musical experience.

Cable and accessories of course are to what users have come to expect when buying a product from PLUSSOUND. Truly TOTL packaging and a tailored Copper XL cable built for each IEM!

Please note these are very tip sensitive. I recommend wide bore and size/half size down for a deep seal and best experience.

All in all, I’m very happy with how these turned out. Looking forward to getting these in the hands of you and members of the press for reviews soon. Cheers and happy listening.

Let me know if you have any questions.

-Seb
