I'm in Berkeley and i want to try out some entry level headphones, specifically the Grado sr60i

The best way to try out headphones is at a meet. There are, unfortunately, very few stores that carry headphones.

Probably the best way to try out the SR-60 is to wait for one to come up in the For Sale Forum here. Buy it and if you don't like it, you can always sell it here for about what you paid. You could do the same with a new pair, but you'd lose $10-$20 on the transaction.

Also, there are lots of Head-Fi'ers in your area. Maybe you could start a thread for a mini-meet or something? You should be able to turn up a few members to meet for beer and pizza and bring along a few headphones to try out.

Ah what a shame, I figured there would be plenty of places in the bay area, I was only there a couple of days (hence the fast bump) I live in the Coachella valley and there are no places to try headphones out other than bose or monster, but those are more of fashion accessories than headphones, right?

Never get these.....expensive, and poor sound.
