The stock cable is admittedly terrible just from a design standpoint - I think it started fraying within a couple of weeks. It would kink up very easily too. Just don't understand how they could have such an abysmal cable when everything else is so beautifully constructed and designed.

I honestly have no issues with the stock cable...

Yes I use Pioneer's balanced cable into the GSX II into mirus dac sounds fantastic. I'm not sure that there is a huge difference in sound quality between single ended & balanced with my setup.

Certainly no complaints with well recorded cds or blueray music videos. I prefer it over my HD800 balanced in the same setup. The Pioneer is more organic sounding yet just as detailed. I really think this is an excellent combination with great synergy.

New to the game here with #884. Bought them from Amazon US Prime for 1999, which seems to be a great price for a sealed box. Also bought V281/V850 from a member hear and wywires. Pretty happy with combo, now burning it in. Don't have much of experience to compare, but I like what I hear.

That's quite the combo you bought! This is your first high end headphone experience?

Does someone had some issues with the earpads? I wonder how long these lasts, as I was told by Pioneer that the replacement has to be done by Pioneer.
That's not good.

Wait...huh?!
I guess I missed the part when you jumped off the HE6 bandwagon...when did that happen?
Are you running these from your vintage gear, and how do they compare to the HE6?
