Wanted to get input from the group, I was traveling today and wanted to use Tidal App to listen to some of my off line content and found that I click any song the Tidal app would say cannot connect to network error and would not play any music???. I did test with Spotify and it worked fine. I tried doing well reset to the player but still could get any Tidal off line music to play

Are you sure the item has been set to download offline? You need to check the "download queue" to make sure no songs are waiting to download in the tidal app. Also make sure after the song have been downloaded offline that you set the mode in tidal to 'offline'
All albums were marked as offline and I checked my SD card which is were I downloaded all 60GB and still showed it there. When I arrive to the hotel and checked with WiFi, nothing downloaded but also error went away. Not sure what is going on
Just a heads up that the official Pioneer case is now available. It's called XDP-APU100 and comes in black or cream colour. I ordered the black one through eBay UK from Japan and it cost around £45. Seems really well made and fits the dap really well with no "bagginess". Very good quality leather (grained). Apart from the 2 micro SD card slots, all other ports/switches are accessible with the case on.
The case is designed to fit with the bottom "bumper" on, but the top of the case is open so the top bumper can be removed without any issues.
Picked up the van nuys case to go with my dap. Also picked up the XPA700 (open box for $200) and the van nuys case for that as well. I ordered the cases and amp from Amazon Japan using Tenso. Wasn't the pain in the ass I thought it would be. I'll be ordering from Japan a lot more in the future.
The XPA700 sounds like the dap but with much more impact. The bass is much better. It's really heavy and sturdy. I really wanted it for the balanced out, most likely for either my JVC FX850s or FLC8s. The amp powers my HD650 to just pass loud enough. Would balanced cable for HD650 be louder? The battery life in these pioneer units is atrocious.
Hi There !
New member so I can post a picture yet, but just wanted to let you know that I found a good replacement screen protector without spending too much !!
Measured the front glass on the XDR-100R and found that it is just a little bigger top to bottom than an HTC Desire 510 phone, but almost the same width. Also the HTC 510 does not have any cameras/ buttons / holes etc on its screen so the protectors are just an oblong shape no funny business. Found one on Amazon (Germany, as thats where I reside) for the grand price of 9 Euros for a hardened glass one, and took the punt. Works great fits almost perfect left to right (less than 1mm gap in total I would estimate) and top to bottom 3-4 mm gap) you can see the gap, but as the screen protector has rounded edges your not bothered by it as it is smooth......
Hope to post a pic soon to show how it looks , but a hell of a lot cheaper than the real one from Panasonic, if you can even get one !!
Other than that loving the player, teamed up with Zik 3.0 its the best sounding travel bundle I have ever had !!!
Just waiting (like others) for the software update to make it perfect (I hope) !!
Link for amazon ....for screen protector ....
I'm 99% committed to buying this dap. All the reviews and the specific features of the XDP-100r make it a very good buy compared to others at this price point and above in some cases. However, there is one issue I keep coming across and want to know if it really is an issue: the overall volume level. The criticism is the volume level is on the low side. Would this be dependant on the type of headphones used? I exclusively use IEM for portable listening. I've read that the volume level could be elevated in a future firmware update. Is this actually possible? Thoughts? Opinions?

Yes the volume is a bit on the low side, I've tried with a variety of IEM's (such as Ultimate Ears UE900s, A&K Angie, etc) as well as full sized cans (Audeze EL8's, Senny HD800's). But my understanding is that the volume cap is an EU requirement, as the Japanese versions of the DAP do not have a volume issue. A new firmware is promised by Pioneer any day now, to remove the artificial volume restriction, so just wait a few days to see whether this solves the issue, and you can then make up your mind.

Apparently the new firmware that addresses the volume hobbling by introducing variable line out is coming on/around 14th March.
I have the EU version of this player, I use it exclusively with IEMs and the volumes is ok - I have to run it on around 140/160 using my ASG2.5 but its loud enough. I can see if might struggle with full size cans but anything made for mobile is probably ok.
