I love my iriver! it's great

the sound quality is nice considering it's a portable device, and fuctionality, ease-of-use, looks etc, is excellent too. Transfers via usb 2 is incredible fast! I never thought it'd be that fast.. it's almost like any other of my harddrives, only this one's easily portable. nice. Just recieved my SuperMicro today. it sounded great, but I'll wait till after burn in before I give it it's final judgement. Now I can even use my AKG's from the Iriver (not possible without an amp)

I noticed that most of you use an amp with your MiniDisc Players, iPods, iRivers, etc., but is there really a need for this? I mean, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of a portable rig?

I don't have a digital camera, but my portable rig is a:

15GB Gen 3 iPod

Shure E2 EarPhones
Sennheiser MX500 EarPhones

Depending on where I'm going.

i was "smart" and bought the Best Buy extended warranty. i get store credit, but it is better than nothing. i am 99.9% sure i am gonna get a 40Gb iPod.

I would get a 40 or 60Gb Xtra if Best buy carried them

oh well the iPod is smaller with more stuff and better warranty
