Alas, synergy is king. And the synergy with my Neumann NDH20 plugged into an iFi iDSD Finale via a neutral silver cable... uhhh... it sucks. It's bad. I need a different, warmer and smoother high isolation closed back for my Sock Rig to actually rock my socks off. I may eventually get a ZMF. In the meantime, I have flip flopped back to the Gold Bar, realizing that it (and the similarly euphonic original Go Bar) synergizes really well with my neutral Neumanns. I haven't done A B tests yet on the Ranko RUF-XC, but it does sound really good right now, I can tell ya that! One day, the Sock Rig might become a thing, but for now, there is...

I got a Sony NW-A15 I bought in 2014 that's still going strong (kinda. It functions like it did 11 years ago, but the battery's charge isn't as solid anymore). A Sony NW-A25 that's a decade old and still performing like it did back then, and I just purchased a ZX100 that's from 2017 that's in immaculate condition and the battery is still aces. Not to mention my 8 year old A45 and 6 year old A55 that are still cruisin' along like the day I bought them, after intense use. Didn't have my WM1A long enough to put it to the battery test. Had to sell when my mom got sick. Those old Sony's just keep going and going...they are tanks!!

I have spent so much in many many more expansive Headphones, IEM, TWS, DAC, AMP ... but these last years since 2018 .. I am always back to Sony's NW-WM & IER series ..
As they can be found at a very reasonable price used..
I wouldn't even not say that IER-M9, which is half price cheaper, is far behind Z1R... (I still own both, but Z1R is more used)

NW-WM1ZM2 is a rather slow device in normal use, and strangely missing BT LDAC receiver mode, but it can handle perfectly a 2Tb micro SD card (for overseas planes) and Qobuz.
As, I have read in classified that some are selling their Brise Audio Fugaku combo, to go back a basic IER-Z1R .. I am doubting now, if I still try to spend such money for it too (I was tempted without being sure it is worth the move in my case and ears).

Maybe that's potentially my end of game combo beside my other home portable combo Dan Clark Audio Stealth & FIIO M17 ..
