I still say it is amazing just how good a nice iem can make a budget player sound I'd also say don't knock it until you've heard it

Yes! I also found that the baby Stax works so well with R2R DAP, it added more analogue feeling to the star

I have the Stax 001 and 002 and the versatility makes for a good IEMs/amp combo. The 001 amp has a more integrated macro-dynamic analog sound. However, the 002 IEMs are fully monitor, transparent and detailed, unlike the 001.
