Bugger... Wanted to see a good shot of the D-Zero close to the iPod for size comparison, but it's completely hidden...

Also, why did you go for the L3 and not the L9(the low-profile Fiio iPod LOD)? It is a portable rig after all..

I'll get a better picture today when I get my DSLR back.

And you're right, I mixed up L3 and L9... I meant the L9!

Can you go fromthe s3 to an external amp? Via usb? Or only a dac?

The S3 supports external USB DACs !   So you can buy a portable DAC/AMP combo and it will work via the S3 USB port.  You can also buy a DAC and an AMP separately of course (S3->DAC->Amp).

The Galaxy Nexus doesn't support USB DACs, so I'm stuck just using an amp via the headphone output.

But anyways...iPod touch 2G (16gb) and the Vsonic GR02 low frequency edition ("bass edition")
I'm a poor student...but I'll upgrade eventually

Sick photography skills

The Earpods are pretty good for $30.  I'm not buying Apple's boast that they "compete with multi-hundred dollar headphones," but I was pleasantly surprised.

The ES5's are still the ****.
