How are they? The dark Denon house-sound?

Definitely.  They're dark, deep and well extended.  I can listen to them forever without any fatigue.  The sound stage is pretty descent as well for an IEM.  If I were to compare them to a full-size headphone it would be the HD 600 but with a little more kick and slightly less veil.  There is just a hint of grain, but tolerable for their price point.

As my first headphones i always remember them very well. As i was not experienced back then, i didn't yet know the Denon house-sound.
They where the NC732 (yes, NCs, as i fly/travel a quite a bit)

Reasoning for my welcoming their 1/2 year lifespan (incl. breakage of cable)*:

- NC Background noise: 3% (of total)
- Treble: (practically) non-existent
- Mids :  recessed (even more so if NC - off)
- Bass:   gray 'colour' (and not black)

Therefore we conclude:

- not really suited for Jazz, Acoustic, Classic, Soul or anything remotely similar to it
- background noise becomes very annoying in quiet locations
- Does not (even) excel at Electro, Dance, etc.

Final summation:

- I did not really enjoy them. - and i didn't even get to try them on a plane.
- Annoying for long term listening

* As i remember, i sent them back twice

-----(i apologise for taking this too far)----

general Q: Is that way of writing understandable/straight forward enough?
@ SoulSyde: Please do tell me how the cables/build quality is.
