I'm pretty settled with my portable gear (for now, at least

) so here are my various setups...

(clickable thumbnail)

From left:

Cheapo 256MB DAP -> Kramer-modded KSC-75s, for jogging/long walks/anything else where it's beneficial to be able to hear ambient noise

iriver H320 -> CrossRoads MylarOne - for general use/commuting. Pictured with CrossRoads hard case and a camera bag for transporting.

Sony Ericsson K610i -> cheap 3.5mm adapter -> Creative EP-630. Good enough for when I can't be bothered bringing my iriver around.

The new black tips are alot better that the yellow foamies. Better comfort, better isolation, washable and longer lasting. I highly recommend them over any other tips

That's a nice match you got. How's the amp sound? I was going to buy a HD1 back then but didn't have the money, but I'm happy with my setup right now.

Well, undoubtedly they provide better isolation and comfort than yellow ones, but sound is much better on yellow foamies. New tips are also a lot more durable. Black tips make whole sound a bit muddy and highs aren't so enjoyable as well.
New tips are perfect for airplane travel or for noisy environment, but if you don't need it, yellow foamies will be better choice.

Hi,Skylab,

Is the cable of your HD25 BlackSilver or BlackMax?
How about HD25 and the compatibility of the cable?
I'm sorry in strange English.

Thanks

I have the Headphile Senn V2 cable in BlackMax. It made a HUGE improvement in the HD25's sound, versus the crappy stock cable. The HD25-1 becomes a really awesome headphone with a good re-cable.

Thanks. The Larocco is a very pretty amp, and it sounds fantastic.

Nice rig Skylab, I've been tempted to buy a Larocco myself for a while now, unfortunately, I've not pulled the trigger due to the problem customers are having with Larry at the ipastudio forum

Yes, Larocco Audio's horrible customer service is a pity, since the PRIImk2 is such a great amp.
