What does one of those go For? What formats will it use. Line Out ETC?

Ha, how'd you guess?

I really don't care, though; it's too easy to scratch/smudge the damn thing [so I don't try not to], and a case doesn't make it sound better, does it?

I paid €248 for 4GB with a 2GB SD Card. It will pretty much play any format (MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, ASF, WAV, APE). No dedicated line-out. Great player.

He added a resistor, that part isn't difficult if you're confident with a soldering iron.

My question, is how does it sound?!?

I'm considering an amp, but they sound so good without one!

Apple iPod 5.0
Grado SR225
Grado 1/4" -> 1/8" adapter

that ipod is looking mighty nervous next to that giant grado plug...

Most people runs ER-4 either with the stock 24Ohm or 100Ohm configuration.

Mine runs at 55Ohm because I dont have an external amp. The best part is that my ER-4 is strikingly on par when it was an ER-4S. It's a lot refined than ER-4P for sure.

Very good. I agree that the ER-4p is kind off "all over the place" and the ER-4s is a lot more "stable", for lack of better words. Nice work, EFN!

One question, though, since the plug now connects to the driver housing at a 90º angle, doesn't it make the cables touch your cheeks? With the lesser angle of the standard plugs, the cables run down perfectly vertical, at least, that's how it was intended.

Of course you would say sweet, as you're using practically the same setup!
